Build a personal CRM for keeping up with friends

A personal CRM for friends is a place to remember conversations and notice whom you'd like to catch up with. It can be as small as a list of names, a few notes, and a next-contact date. It shouldn't turn your friendships into a sales process.

Start with people you already mean to call

You probably don't need to import everyone you've ever met. Start with a handful of friends you keep thinking you should contact. A note about their new job or the trip they were planning is more useful than a profile full of empty fields.

Use last catch-up, a short note, and an optional date to reach out. The date is a cue for you, not a judgment about the relationship.

A brief without the sales language

Build a small friends tracker. Save a name, a note from our last catch-up, the date we last talked, and an optional date I'd like to reach out. Show people with upcoming or past reach-out dates in a simple list. Let me update the note after a conversation. Don't add scores, pipelines, contact imports, or automatic messages. Make it easy to use on my phone.

This is an app idea to build and test in Kaddy, not an installed template. Make the wording yours: “catch up soon” might feel better than “overdue.”

Test the dates and the quiet cases

Add fictional people with yesterday's date, next week's date, and no date. Make sure the list treats each case sensibly. Record a catch-up and choose a new date, then refresh and check the saved values.

Try a long note on your phone. Make sure editing one person doesn't change another. Keep the first test fictional so mistakes don't affect notes you care about.

Think about what belongs in the notes

Write only what helps you be a better friend. Keep sensitive details out when you don't need them. Before sharing an app, understand the role and what records become readable; a public screen can mean public app data.

The brief doesn't connect to messages, read an address book, or send reminders to your phone. Its reach-out list is something you open. You still choose when and how to contact someone.

An assistant can help you look back

You can use the app's regular conversation to discuss your own notes or plan whom to catch up with. Its memory belongs to this app. It doesn't automatically collect context from your other Kaddy apps or from conversations outside Kaddy.

If all you need is a short list, keep it short. The value is remembering to call a friend, not spending the evening maintaining the tracker. See the memory guide and the first-app walkthrough for the next steps.
